The Visiting Nurse Association operates three Adult Day
Centers, offering four adult day-time programs. The
Centers serve the needs of adults who are physically or
cognitively impaired, whether by stroke, Alzheimer's
disease, or other conditions associated with aging. Each
program provides therapeutic activities for the
participants and an opportunity for important respite
time for their caregivers. Besides activities designed
especially for their abilities, participants interact
with staff and enjoy visits from community volunteers.
Transportation to and from each center may be available
through the MST/RIDES program. Fees may be based on the
client's ability to pay. The day's activities always
include a snack and nutritious lunch.

Two programs operate at VNA's Seaside Adult Day Center,
located at 200 Coe Avenue in Seaside Highlands, by
alternating days of service. Both programs are joint
efforts between the Monterey Adult School and the
Visiting Nurse Association. The monthly fee is on a
sliding scale. Transportation is available through RIDES
on a space-available basis and participants have the
option of ordering a hot, nutritious lunch from Meals on
Wheels. Both programs are open year round except for
school holidays. These programs provide therapeutic
activities for the participants in safe, supportive, and
caring environments, and are designed especially for
their unique abilities. The programs also provide vital
benefits for their caregivers, who can have peace of
mind knowing their loved one is in competent, loving
hands while they go to work, do errands, or simply use
the time to refresh their spirits.
