Flu Clinics

Influenza is a communicable disease that can have a devastating affect on businesses, schools and our community. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that, each year in the United States, approximately
5-20% of the population gets influenza, commonly known as the flu; 226,000 are hospitalized with flu-related complications and as any as 49,000 die as a result of flu.

INFLUENZA BY THE NUMBERS

  • 200 million days lost productivity
  • 100 million days of bed disability
  • 75 million days of work absences
  • 22 million visits to healthcare providers

Prevention of the flu in the workplace is one example in which employers can take an active role in promoting the health of their workforce.  Central Coast VNA is booking on-site immunization clinics for the 2012-2013 season.

Remember the decision to immunize goes beyond the work place and helps to protect our community from the serious effects of influenza.

Annual flu vaccination is recommended fro everyone six months of age and older!
